Aishwarya: Through the years

Aishwarya Rai shot into the limelight when she won the title of Miss World in 1994.

While in college, Aishwarya wanted to be an architect but later on gave up on those plans to pursue a career in modeling.

Ash became a popular model and still continues to be one.

She went on to win Miss World title in 1994.

She made her debut with Mani Ratnam's 'Iruvar' and her Bollywood debut opposite Bobby Deol in 'Aur Pyar Hogaya'

Even though she did not taste success in her initial flicks, she went on to deliver hits - Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Taal, Devdas - the list is pretty long

She has shared the screen with almost all the famous names from the Indian movie industry.

She has dated Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi before getting married to Abhishek Bachchan.

Earlier this year, her father in law - Amitabh Bachchan announced that she is pregnant.

Aishwarya started keeping away from the public eye

Even when Madhur Bhandarkar questioned her professionalism - Ash acted very cool.

She returned the fee Madhur had given her for 'Heroine'

Aishwarya has over time proved that she is just not a pretty face.

So what does this birthday mean for this soon to be mom?

Astrologers predict she will have a baby girl.

According to a report, she should ideally be staying at home and taking care of the baby.

Will she be a stay at home mother or a public figure?
Will Aishwarya continue acting even after the child is born.

The year ahead will give us the answer.

The Original Divas of Bollywood: Tina Munim

Tina Munim is famous for bringing vivaciousness and glamour to the silver screen.
Tina Munim had the ability to light up the screen with her presence. Acting in a number of films, opposite the top actors of her time, Tina Munim touched stardom in Bollywood. She stood out amongst her contemporaries as they were considered plain and boring in comparison to her. Her affair with Rajesh Khanna also ended up adding to the advantage since their pairing was hugely successful.

The Beginning
Tina Munim began her Bollywood journey with the ‘Des Pardes’ which was directed by Dev Anand. The movie was an average film but Tina’s fresh face did not go unnoticed. She was quickly signed up for other projects including Sanjay Dutt’s launch vehicle ‘Rocky’.

Claim to Fame
Tina Munim shot to fame with her very first film. Latter films like ‘Baaton Baaton Mein’, ‘Karz’ and ‘Rocky’ took her to the top and she was soon one of the most sought after actresses of the 80s.

The Oomph Factor
Tina Munim was attributed with bringing in a freshness and glamour to an era which was highly unglamorous for Bollywood. Her diverse roles leant to the richness of her career while making her the darling of the masses at the same time.

The Calling
Tina Munim had never considered joining films and was set to become a couturier. It was her chance participation in a teen beauty contest that had Dev Anand floored. He pursued her till she finally gave in to his proposal of acting in his film.

Did You Know
Jaya Bachchan dubbed for Poonam Dhillon and Tina Munim in 'Yeh Vaada Raha', so that there was a single voice throughout the change of heroine.

Tina Munim Now
Married to business tycoon, Anil Ambani, Tina Munim is a proud mother of two sons and is, presently, happy taking care of her family. She doesn’t act in movies anymore but makes constant appearances at social events earning herself the tag of a socialite.
