Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif on Tuesday visited the Dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, Rajasthan, to offer her prayers for the success of her upcoming films 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' (My Brother's Bride) and 'Ek Tha Tiger' (There was a Tiger).
The actress paid obeisance at the shrine early on Tuesday.
Kaif was attired in a white kurta and her head was covered with a black scarf.
She laid flowers at the shrine and made religious offerings. Kaif also offered a traditional Chadar at the shrine and prayed for some time
In 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan', Kaif stars opposite Imran Khan and Pakistani singer Ali Zafar. The movie is scheduled to be released this week.
In 'Ek Tha Tiger', Kaif is paired opposite Salman Khan and will be released next year.
A large number of devotees, who were present at the shrine, could not recognize the actress, as she had covered her face.
Kaif, who is known for her good looks, visited the shrine without having any make-up on her face.
She returned to Jaipur after her visit to the shrine was completed.
The actress often visits the shrine before the release of any of her films.
The shrine is a symbol of religious convergence as people from all religions throng the holy place in large numbers with a belief that all their wishes would be fulfilled after they offer prayers at the shrine.
Thousands of devotees congregate at the revered Ajmer Sharif shrine every year to offer prayers on the occasion of 'Urs' (death anniversary of a Sufi saint).
Among the other prominent Bollywood personalities, who had earlier visited the holy shrine were, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, actress Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.
Apart from Bollywood actors frequently visiting the tomb of Moinuddin Chishti whose blessings are eagerly sought by pilgrims, politicians also visit the shrine to seek the blessings from the Sufi saint.
The shrine is the last resting place of the saint who died in the year 1235. (ANI)
