Almost made it on Bigg Boss

Aftab Shivdasani: This boy-next-door could’ve had a whole new career, or a career to begin with if rumours of him being on Bigg Boss 4 would’ve come true. But unfortunately for him, it didn’t and yes, he continues to be a lifetime member in Bollywood’s strugglers anonymous

He may have been Bollywood’s first superstar back in the day. But today, Rajesh Khanna has been reduced to a freak show, following a dodgy political career and a string a lead roles in B-grade films. So it wasn’t surprising that he was considered for the show in it’s third season. What led to a fallout between the TV channel and Khanna can only be contemplated but our birdie tells us that Khanna demanded a regular supply of booze when on the show, which was touted as the prime reason for crossing him off the list

Some actors are better off on-screen is a phrase commonly used for Chunkey Pandey. After stories of his ridiculous antics at parties (he shed his trousers at SRK’s party), the audience could’ve got a sleazy treat, if he would’ve agreed to be on the show. But better sense prevailed and he was spared the possible public humiliation when he refused to be on the show

Easily the biggest contemporary pop icon, Lady Gaga has been approached to be a contestant on the show for the upcoming season of Bigg Boss. Should we expect a bad reality romance or a field day for the pop paparazzi, only time will tell

A pleasant face is the second biggest qualifier for reality TV after violently quarrelsome. And our very own cereal queen Lara Dutta was almost considered for the upcoming season or so said the TV pundits. But when she heard about the rumours, she was in splits and even tweeted, saying, “I'm in Bigg Boss 5? That's the funniest rumour I've heard so far!"

For most TV actors, this reality show has truly been the best platform for an image makeover. And if they’re lucky, a boost enough to bag a chance to host another reality show. Manish Goyal, after a long run of forgotten flop TV shows, hoped to be a contestant on Bigg Boss. But his optimistic dream was crushed as he wasn’t offered the chance. We can safely say, this dropout wasn’t missed by many

Reality TV breeds on freaks and the famous who have no qualms about getting bitter and wild on national TV. So who better than Mike Tyson, who has had his share of bitter bites inside the ring. While sources say that the ace boxer has signed on the dotted line, we would like to be more realistic if not conservative about this rumour actually turning into a reality. And if he does show up, we’re surely in for some out-of-the-ring action

Mohanlal: This four-time National Award winner could’ve taken this reality show to another level if he had agreed to be a contestant in the third season when he was offered a chance. But again, he refused to go from southern superstar to reality show freak

The big goss in the last season of this reality show was that the original Rambo of Hollywood, Sylvester Stallone would trigger his way into the Bigg Boss house. The idea to get the Hollywood hunk on the show was a desperate attempt to boost TRPs. And even though his appearance was limited to the gossip columns that featured this news item, just the hope that he could show up in the following episodes was enough to keep viewers glued to the idiot box
She is the biggest diva of Bollywood and having her on a reality show would surely grab enough eye balls. Atleast that’s what the TV channel thought when they approached her. In this case, Zeenat clearly refused the offer and her fans were deprived of getting to see their idol in a different light
