The new trend: Working with the ex

Ranbir and Deepika were those starry eyed love birds when they were dating. But then, things started to go wrong. Ranbir was linked to almost each and every co-star. Naturally Deepika became jealous and insecure.

Ranbir and Deepika were those starry eyed love birds when they were dating. But then, things started to go wrong. Ranbir was linked to almost each and every co-star. Naturally Deepika became jealous and insecure.
And then, along came Katrina. The duo hit off instantaneously – both on the screen and off it. Deepika, who was already insecure broke up. The break up was pretty messy too – with Deepika calling Ranbir a cheater.

Now all that is forgotten, they will be acting together in Ayaan Mukherjee's Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani.

Salman had been Katrina's mentor and dearest pal for more than nine years and when he announced their breakup there sure was a lot of gossip floating around.
And as one popular story goes, she almost broke down when he took jibes at her during a promotion event.

But now, all that is forgotten and they are acting together again in Ek Tha Tiger.

They hit the headlines for their so called break ups more than all the times they spent together. So, it did come as a surprise when they signed up for Kunal Kohli's Janam Janam Ka Saath Hai Hamara Tumhara.

Shahid and Kareena had a chemistry which everyone envied. And then, suddenly they broke up. Mind you, unlike many other celebs, there were no bad words flung around, no dirty linen washed in public. Now, the duo have signed up for Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Sequel. Will they be able to rekindle the 'Jab we Met' chemistry again? We wait.

Bollywood's Ex-Lovers Turned Friends

Flames to dust, lovers to friends. Why do all good things come to an end?" sang Nelly Furtado.
These lines hold true for a lot of Bollywood folks since their transition from passionate lovers to 'just good friends' happens in the shortest possible time post break-up. Here are some such Bollywood stars who went on to become friends after their break-up.
Deepika Padukone- Ranbir Kapoor

Deepika and Ranbir didn't exactly have quite an amicable break-up. It was Ranbir's alleged infidelity that prompted the leggy lass to dump him. A few digs later, Deepika apparently got over her heartbreak and is, today, in a comfortable space with the Kapoor heir. The two have signed an Ayan Mukherji film and, resultantly, Deepika even attended Ranbir's birthday party, as a 'friend', of course.

Salman Khan- Katrina Kaif

A perfect love-story suddenly went kaput when Salman and Katrina Kaif called it quits on their relationship. The hushed reason was said to be young gun Ranbir Kapoor. Irrespective of the break-up, neither did Sallu stop taking care of his ex-mistress nor did Katrina stop respecting him as an actor, person and friend. The two are also shooting for an upcoming film, titled 'Ek Tha Tiger'.

Shahid Kapoor- Priyanka Chopra
Sasha and Piggy Chops never admitted the fact that they dated each other, forget breaking up! However it can hardly be denied that two have been in an 'on- again/ off-again' relationship mode. Despite talks of their link-up and break-up, the two remain fast friends and are seen hanging out together quite often.

Preity Zinta- Ness Wadia
Preity and Ness were like a match made in heaven when they were together. They were apparently the happiest couple in B-town but they too fell prey to the downside of relationships. Preity and Ness decided to go their own separate ways but made sure that they didn't lose the great friendship that they once shared.

Bipasha Basu- Dino Morea

Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea were the it-couple during their modelling days. After acting in several forgettable movies, the couple decided to split. Bipasha soon moved on to John Abraham (now her ex) and Dino, well, to a number of gorgeous ladies. After they broke up, the two never showed any bitterness towards each other and were always warm and affable whenever they met.

Akshay Kumar- Shilpa Shetty
Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty had a very very nasty break-up owing to which Shilpa was left nursing her heartbreak. It took years for Shilpa to completely recover from the break-up and Akki's infidelity which was why she totally ignored anything to do with him. It was only after she found peace within herself, post her 'Big Brother' win and marriage to Raj Kundra, that Shilpa got over the demons of her past. Today, she doesn't seem to be affected by Akshay's presence anymore and, reportedly, holds him in good regard.

Bollywood is now 100% imported

Half- foreign, half- Indian heroines won’t do anymore. As Bollywood guns for global identity, the fad is to cast exotic beauties of wholly foreign origin in lead roles.

When Farhan Akhtar mooned over Spanish actress-model Ariadna Cabrol in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, their brief chemistry triggered off a fad.  Bollywood was looking at a new formula-twister when it came to casting and the trend of introducing foreign beauties in entered the next level.

Half-Kashmiri, half-British Katrina Kaif may have kickstarted the fad of importing exotic stunners in Hindi films over the past decade, but the focus is shifting. With Hindi films increasingly getting westernised and gunning for global identity, our very Indian heroes want to romance girls with a 100-per cent foreigner tag.

Ariadna may have had a prop role in the multi-starrer Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, but what is following is a steady inflow of foreign-bred beauties in lead roles. Last week’s crossover comedy Speedy Singhs saw the debut of American-Canadian beauty Camilla Belle, a budding Hollywood actress who starred in 2008’s prehistoric adventure hit, 10,000 BC.  South African model Candice Boucher makes her debut in the spy thriller Aazaan later this month. Half-Czech, half-Pakistani Nargis Fakhri has already created hype over her debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar, which releases in November. All this, despite Mexican beauty Barbara Mori’s debut in last year’s Kites flopping. What’s interesting is that girls of purely foreign origin were so far mostly acceptable only in item numbers.

Yana Gupta kickstarted that trend in 2003’s Dum with her Babuji dance. Spanish hottie Mayte Garcia was a hit in the Deedar de number of Dus. Brazilian beauty Bruna Abdalah did the Reham kare jig in Cash while Mariah Gomes raised the temperature with her item dance Neeyat in Teen Patti. That trend is changing now.  Bollywood has come a long way since Raj Kapoor introduced Russian actress Kseniya Ryabinkina in Hindi films in Mera Naam Joker. RK’s decision to cast Kseniya as a trapeze artist in his 1972 opus created hype, but it was a one-off instance that hardly started a trend. This time, the trend seems here to stay.

Celebrity weight loss: Before and after

Look how Sonakshi Sinha has evolved in the past couple of years, and wow!

When Kat first entered the Tinsteltown, she was quite a healthy girl. She didn't even look like any distant cousin of Barbie then!

Looking at Adnan Sami's before-after images, all we can say is: 'Hats off to his determination'.

Zarine's journey from 'Fatrina' to Zarine is something worth appreciating!

Don't you think the 'Mean Girl' Lindsay Lohan has gone a bit too far? Thankfully, LiLo herself realised that, and got back into her previous shape soon.

Britney's weight woes are quite famous. Like a graph, it goes up, hits rock bottom and goes up again. Britney should learn to keep her emotions at bay.

Oprah Winfrey too is quite experienced with experimenting her looks.

Was Jennifer Connelly going through some nervous breakdown then? It looks more like a disease than any dietary wonders

Have to admit that the chubby 'Bridget Jones' look suits Renee Zellweger more than the svelte look.

Did Peter Jackson starve himself to become skinny like this? Truly a 'Lord of the Diet'

It seems someone has put some sense into Nicole Richie's head. The painfully thin actress has attained a 'human' figure finally. We appreciate her for that.
